Welcome to Silver Print Press! We are located in an old farmhouse on Route 100 in Colbyville, Vermont (some call it Ben&Jerryville as their ice cream plant is next door). The resort town of Stowe is just up the road.

JUST PUBLISHED!!! HARDLY NOTHING EVER HAPPENS IN COLBYVILLE, VERMONT

This 162 page book, written by Peter Miller, is an anthology of 27 stories written or edited in his Colbyville home, a forgotten hamlet of Waterbury now under attack from development and sprawl. The stories run  the gamut from reportage, humor, satire and cover 30 years of changes in Vermont. The subjects range  from Ben & Jerry's, skiing, hunting, fishing, to social commentary (Take Back Vermont), reportage (Fred Tuttle's funeral). The book includes 31 photographs including his infamous pig and sheep photo and would prod anyone who has a keen interest in Vermont. It is available on this site and in Vermont book stores.

We are best known for a trio of books by Peter Miller which have won three national awards. They are Vermont People, Vermont Farm Women and Vermont Gathering Places. Because of these books, Peter was honored by The Burlington Free Press and the Vermont State Legislature as 2006 Vermonter of the Year. There are over 15,000 copies of Vermont People in print and it is known as the classic Vermont tabletop book. (Note: Vermont People is going out of print and will not be available until mid 2009. We have a couple of hardcover and soft cover copies. First come, first serve.

Yankee Weather Proverbs is a delightful collection of 97 New England proverbs collected by Peter Miller and beautifully illustrated in color by Daryl V. Storrs. This book is appreciated as a gift and a premium.

Stick Season Grouse by Ted Ross, is a collection of hunting and fishing stories, some of which are outrageous and many are humorous Our favorite chapter is  Drinking with Dogs.

What else?   Peter has a new photography gallery in his home and also a new website for his fine art photography:  www.petermillerphotography.com. If you have any questions or wish to find more of Peter's photos, email info@silverprintpress.com.
